Full screen resolution problem

Postby Guest » Fri May 18, 2012 8:07 pm

Hello, I'm having a problem with the full screen resolution. I have a laptop with a resolution of 1366x768 but when I play PWO full screen it narrows down to 1024x768 and so it doesn't fit my screen. So all I have when I play in full screen mode is 1 small screen in the middle which is PWO, and on the right and left of the screen its black. I used to be able to run PWO fine on a 1366x768 resolution but since I reinstalled windows 7 it does this... Please help me with getting PWO running on 1366x768 resolution in full screen mode so that it fits my screen ^-^

Change the resolution of your pc..go to control panel..and the rest is self explanitory..there should be an option called display..and from there resolution.

I didn't say you were stupid, I said change the resolution xD..I'm saying try changing it from 1366x768...I also had a small laptop and have been able to use pwo perfectly fine I only say this because I want people to try helping themselves instead of being dependant upon others...try messing around with your pc settings you might be glad if you did something without anothers help and then be able to help someone else solve the same problem, get my drift?

Well... It's not a small laptop, it's a regular 15.6'' laptop. And so my max resolution is 1366x768 and I tried changing it to lower resolutions but no differences... And I already messed alot with the settings upon which I now decided to finally make a topic.

Ok, well that makes sense..now do this..take a screen shot of the game while in fullscreen mode..I can come up with a better solution if I can see the problem myself.

I can't... well.. I can but when you make a screenshot the black parts get deleted automatically.. So I'd just be screenshotting the game.. not the black parts at the left and right which is the whole problem..

You say that you reinstalled windows 7.. So then you must reinstall drivers to your graphic card..

Not always true..I've installed windows 7 before and I had to do nothing with my graphics card.

By messing around a bit more with my PC settings I finally fixed it, I put my resolution to 1360x768 instead of 1366x768 and changed the scaling to full screen scaling in my intel screen options. Apparently that option becomes available when you change your resolution and it automatically makes every game that doesn't support 1366x768 resolution fit in the screen in full screen mode :D It bothers me that I have to change my resolution every time I want to play PWO but I'll live with it xD

Thanks for even bothering to reply :)
